Efficiency of the Islamic Banking Sector: Evidence from Two-Stage DEA Double Frontiers Analysis

چکیده

This paper examines the multi-dimensional efficiency of Islamic banking sector and its determinants, including impacts COVID-19 pandemic. To do that, we use a novel approach two-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) double frontiers to evaluate overall 79 banks across 16 countries (2005–2020). In first-stage analysis, found that experienced an increasing trend in performance, even during recent pandemic, although it varied countries. Our empirical results second-stage further showed economic development can help both withstand pandemic improve performance their (Islamic) system. This, turn, could speed up recovery process global economy. Since there is evidence resilient expected this will be driving force such recovery.

Public-private partnerships and scale efficiency in Brazilian ports: Evidence from two-stage DEA analysis ¬リニ

This paper assesses the impacts of public-private partnerships on major Brazilian public ports. It is proposed that these kinds of arrangements with private terminal operators could help achieving higher levels of scale efficiency by enhancing coordination processes, providing more adequate information technologies, and higher connectivity with other transportation modes. Methodology relies on ...

Two-Stage DEA Analysis of Water Resource Use Efficiency

This paper presents an extended two-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) method for analyzing water resource use efficiency (WRUE) and related WRUE issues, which was developed by introducing regional water resource metabolic theory into the two-stage DEA method. It has the following advantages: (1) it has the ability to reflect the inner difference and connection of the regional water resource...

Efficiency measures of the Chinese commercial banking system using an additive two-stage DEA

Measuring and improving the efficiency of the Chinese commercial banking system has recently attracted increasing interest. Few studies, however, have adopted the two-stage network DEA to explore this issue in the Chinese context. Because the entire operational process of the banking system could be divided into two sub-processes (deposit producing and profit earning), the evaluation of the sub...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Fuzzy Efficiency Measures in DEA: A New Approach based on Fuzzy DEA Approach with Double Frontiers

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a method to measure relative efficiency of a set of decision-making units (DMUs) which uses multiple inputs and produces multiple outputs. In the conventional DEA, crisp inputs and outputs are fundamentally necessary. But the observed values of inputs and outputs in real-world problems are sometimes imprecise. Thus, performance measurement often needs to be do...
